How old is the lil critter?

Of course it depends on body type as well. Endo/Exo/Mesomorph. They all need different types of food and exercise.

This. Especially for the first few months. His focus should be on breathing, technique, diet and understanding some basic concepts of fitness, strength, muscle & physiology. Get him interested and reading or watching youtube videos. I think way too many people rush into it with supplements trying to pack on muscle without first covering the basics.

And yeah - how old is he?

I don't like all these supplements, never know what's in there ... make your balls shrink (like steroids) or give you testicular cancer... just do it all natural - proper diet, and exercise and doing it slowly...

If you want to drink shakes I would only recommend 100% whey protein concentrate mixed with milk/cream and flavoured with vanilla/cacao/coffee

Lol, where's your medical degree. I find it hilarious when people make nonsensical statements.

I'm all for supps. Especially when they are used as a post-workout meal/whatever you wanna call it.

Don't get it why there's so much hate towards supps. It's even funny when it's from juicers....

Eat a lot of healthy food and do heavy weights with the proper technique. The shakes are for snacks or when he is too full to eat.

I'm 1.84m and weigh 69kg. He's not under weight. You can't see my ribs :p

He should just eat healthy and work out...no point in gaining "weight" if it's all fat.

Eat, eat, eat and eat more. His body needs to be in a caloric surplus if he wants to gain weight and muscle.
Supplements are just that - supplements. Get him to start eating more [healthy] meals per day and then look at what he lacks in his diet (protein, carbs etc)

Also, less cardio will also help. Depending on how much he does obviously.

Just don't ever buy any USN products. Also never listen to the advice the wannabe jock salesmen tells you at dischem. They are all USN promoters. I wouldn't feed that crap to my dog.

Also, try not to fall prey to the mass builders. Too many bad carbs and sugar in there. Rather get a whey protein and mix it with oats to get extra carbs.

I use the hardcore whey from USN  Good and cheap for me :/
