Boks should have gone to Soweto without question.
(I know they did today).

From the reports I heard, virtually no-one turned out to greet them.
Sowetans don't support rugby. it should be kinda obvious. jeez.
all they care about is a round ball, and either kaiser chiefs or orlando pirates.
It's not necessarily a gross generalisation. Fact is rugby is not as well supported by the Black populace as it is by other population groups. Conversely, Black support for football is obviously bigger than other population groups support for the same sport. It has nothing to do with race - probably more to do with preference.Nice and easy to generalise isn't it![]()

The news headline should be changed to "Soweto snubs the Boks".
Looks like the SA Rugby management were right in their original decision - waste of time to tour townships where there is little support.
Dont agee at all. Why should they go anywhere except a CBD. A CBD is where most people will be.
If your understanding of SA politics is so limited you should maybe go back to describing your bodily problems and functions to us - it's what you are better at.
YThere must be a place for idiots in the world too I presume!
Quite. Where did you say you live?
In other news Soweto residents are racists cause they only like Brian Habana.

Of course their original decision was to visit Soweto, then they changed their minds, then they changed it back again late on Friday - probably not the ideal way to ensure that there was a welcoming crowd. :|
True.
But I would still have expected the thousands of supporters to be out there.
If they were really interested.
.......... People were sleeping on the street around the country in some cases to see the boks.
Huh? I heard Friday morning that the boks were passing through our CBD. Short notice didn't stop me from going there. If they really wanted to go see the Boks, they would have. Now if it were a Kaizer Chiefs or Bafana open tour bus - the crowds would have been there in their masses.Of course their original decision was to visit Soweto, then they changed their minds, then they changed it back again late on Friday - probably not the ideal way to ensure that there was a welcoming crowd. :|
