Book library in Garage ?

Anyone here keeps books in garage? Need to clear space in cupboard for son's books and was thinking of putting some shelves in garage. I can imagine dust would be issue so probably has to be proper cupboards and not open shelves. Easy access could be other issue as well but I suppose life is compromise.

Put them in an air sealed container with a lid in the garage and tape the lid around if need be for long term storage, fluorescent lights will over time turn the exposed books into a yellowish colour so wrap in a black garbage bag first, then into container

Before installing cupboards put a sheet of clear or black plastic on the wall with a bit extra at the top to bring down the front.
If a wall or roof leak in the area all ought to be ok.

Yes in boxes in the roof never to be seen again.

My advice…just accept it and give them away and buy a Kindle.

If they in an airtight container they will be fine. Keep moisture out and keep free from goggas, mice and rats. Don't store in boxes.

Thanks for all suggestions. I suppose I need to reduce book collection anyways. Let me make some effort to see if I can get ebook versions for books that I have.

If they could be use to someone else then pass them on.

Rather make the ones you keep the special ones.
