I uninstalled Linux, but when I boot up my computer it still gives me the option of loading into Linux or Windows. How do I fix this to just load straight into Windows?

DOS bootdisk, run fdisk /mbr

or boot from your windows disk, goto recovery console, and run 'fixmbr'

DOS bootdisk??? I don't have a floppy drive, and my Vista CD won't take me to the recovery console.

I know in XP there was a way to have the Recovery Console added as an option on boot, ie it would boot of the hard drive. Doesn't Vista have the option to install a local Recovery Console?

I can't get to the recovery console in vista. Can I use a linux livecd to fix it?

well linux can only install grub or lilo onto the mbr. if you want the vista one (or xp), you need to run fixmbr in vista (or xp).

I am sure many have wanted to do this: do a google search for vista fixmbr
