Hey~

I have a problem with XP.. every time the computer restarts, the computer boots from the CD... but then, it says boot fail, insert disc.. so basically it cannot start without putting the disc into the computer..

It is annoying me at the moment.. i tried repairing the windows, but it does not have that option... so I was just wondering if anyone has a answer to my problem..

Yes I can see it there, after I boot from the CD, it goes to window XP.. like normal... but its just that everytime I reboot, I have to insert the CD, then it will carry on...

Sounds like your MBR is stuffed. You should be able to boot from CD and repair it.

I can not repair it.. I tried so many times.. all it does when it gets there is "type exit to restart"

I do not know what is going on.. Can anyone tell me what the problem was? Like maybe I a prevent it in the near future... (could it be a virus?)

THanks
