I subscribed to the Windows insider and was surprised when my pc was stuck in a bootloop. I scoured the net and nothing helped and eventually used a windows 10 bootdisk. Because of the windows partitions, i didnt loose too much data.

I managed to recover my emails, I did loose a few estimates and invoices on Quickbooks. My laptop has a SSD, i assumed its a more stable drive.

I do use a limited amount of cloud storage. How do you guys protect/backup your data? I was considering a desktop purely for work.... or a network storage drive. Any suggestions?

I dont want to be in that situation again

thanks

I don't use Windows 10, protecting my data.

Return to basics and apply the rule of 3-2-1 ..

3 copies of your data, on 2 different types of media, 1 stored off site.

I cheat a bit. I use a Raided NAS for local backups, and important data files also go to cloud.

In general my aim is always to be in a position where I can wipe my primary workstation, and be up and running in a few hours with minimal to no data loss.

This makes alot of sense, Never heard of the 321 Rule. Thank you Bin

no its perfectly fine. i keep a 500GB HDD, that i dock once a month to update my backup. HDD is stored away from my pc so if the pc gets stolen or such i still have important files like family photos etc.

Thank you Zuner, I think a NAS Drive will be easier and suite me well

Why are you surprised?

Why do people think its cool to sub to insider and beta versions of important systems, they KNOW it could cause issues.
