Joined PF in Jan83 left Dec86 S.A.Navy, although i never made it to the bush, i still feel that the most important point is not of who won in any war, but to remember those who fell, be it for right or wrong, they died fighting, they died in conflict, they are no longer with us , and they deserve to be remembered.
History is Unfortunately written by the "winner", the fallen cannot speak for themselves, and to comment or judge them after the fact is dis-honouring to their memory.
What is needed, is not place of political statement, but a place of rememberance, a monument to the fallen, with the names of all South Africans, who have died in all conflicts on both sides, irespective of race colour and creed, irespective of right or wrong, a place where friends and family may burn a candle, place flowers, or lay a wreath, a place where the men and women from all conflicts may pay their respects to those who fell, may remember, may meet old comrades in arms, share memories, and pay thier respects to the dead.

They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
