Borderlands 2

Really enjoying Borderlands 2 so far. But found a major bug last night. When near the golden chest, if you drop a gun it just falls through the floor! And after a google search, I see it becoming a common issue! Anybody else had this problem?

lol i dropped quite a few when i got my golden chest in sanctuary , no problems ?

lan problem sorted too :D friends pc was acting up and changed his adapter to wireless.

this game is really awesome, loving it !

theres another ploit where you can get to the area where the firehawk stays.... theres a lonely tower standing on one pillar with some crab spawns below it, if you go a bit to your right just up the hill there are some baddies, theres a few bins and some shelter metal thing protruding out the ground, jump onto bins, jump onto shelter thing, position yourself correctly and sprint jump across .... worked for me :D while friend was still puzzling how to get there lol . second time we just sprinted through mobs the correct way.
 
guys, follow the GearboxSoftware tweet page for SHIFT keys for more Golden Keys.

they just posted one which is valid for 3hrs. gonna post another at 6am.

then again at 12PM, 6PM and 10PM.
 
I just got Borderlands 2 yesterday. I have to use my crappy laptop with a 320M GT. Works awesome though at over 30fps with everything on max at 1366x768 after making one tweak to the config file. If anyone has a weak system then try this one tweak to disable cell shading. It doubled my fps:


Disable Black Outline Shader

You know that big black outline that surrounds most objects and gives them a more cartoonish look? It’s cool, but removing it is another way you can tone down the graphical requirements of Borderlands 2 to get it to run better.

In WillowEngine.ini, find this line:

DefaultPostProcessName=WillowEngineMaterials.WillowScenePostProcess

To turn off the shader, you need to make adjustments to the line — namely, remove both instances of the word “Willow,” so it looks like this:

DefaultPostProcessName=EngineMaterials.ScenePostProcess


Disable Cel Shading

In WillowEngine.ini, find the same line as above:

DefaultPostProcessName=WillowEngineMaterials.WillowScenePostProcess

and change it to:

DefaultPostProcessName=WillowEngineMaterials.RyanScenePostProcess

That will remove the black outline shader as above, and also disable the cel shading effect to make the graphics slightly more realistic and add more contrast on surfaces. You’ll also get a pretty marked performance boost, because these shaders take a fair amount of processing power.

Contrary to most here, I don't find Borderlands 2 to be as great as described. Sure, it looks pretty good and there's a bit of humour in the storyline, but I don't feel like it differs very much at all from the original.

Lanned with a few mates last weekend and we just didn't seem to get into it. Dota 2/BF3 won 90% of the time. ;) When we played Borderlands 1 we literally played the whole weekend.

Anyway, just my 2c.

Ya I pretty much agree, i'm not saying it is a bad game,there's nothing wrong with it, I personally feel it is over rated, if anything it feels like an expansion, there's not really anything different about it, I think the people that hype so much about the game are the ones that are playing co op, which is pretty fun,but other than that single players feels the same.
 
I play single player and I am enjoying it.

still need to get friends to let me know when they playing so I can actually coop with them.

well I would say, even if it was BL1 all over again, I would still enjoy it cause it comes down to the story and that oh so subtle comedy that is making me enjoy it.

It's a diablo FPS what's not to love. I still play it every chance I get.
 
There's a simple hack to get unlimited golden keys. If you've finished the game and want to have more fun, just google for it.

was told they fixed that in a patch???

and why would you want to do that?

I get better loot dropped than what I got with the 1st key I used.
 
Just can not find time anymore to game. Work is pretty hectic, but I plan to play this weekend...... a lot!!!!
All said, I loved BL1, and loving BL2. And that's what it is all about!!!!!!

Rumors swirled yesterday about Borderlands 2's first piece of big downloadable content. They're true. The game's first official campaign add-on is all about pirates.

It's called Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty. It will take you to an entirely new area of Pandora, a wasteland that was once a beautiful resort by the ocean called Oasis. There you will meet new characters, embarking on a journey to find Captain Scarlett's treasure and battling pirate bandits and sand worms along the way. Don't worry, you can run most of them over with a sand skiff, the DLC's new vehicle (pictured below).

The DLC will be out on October 16th—same day as the original release date for the Mechromancer character class—and available for $10 on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Or, if you have the $30 season pass, it comes included with that bundle. Hooray!

We'll have hands-on impressions of the campaign DLC next Monday

So far there's 3 new raids, side missions, new zone(s) to explore, new loot and a 6th rarity level :eek:

Purple is the same as Pink in rarity

1 White
2 Green
3 Blue
4 Purple/Pink
5 Orange/Dark shades of Yellow
6 most people think it's going to be Pearlescent (or Cyan) like it was in BL1

I must say, favourite character so far has to be Tiny Tina, she's crazy :D
 
ah k, that makes sense.

well I would love a pearlescent, but then I want it to actually be worthy.

I pick up so many pink/orange/blue and most of the time they end up being weaker than the green.

I used 2 golden keys at level 14 and level 18 respectively, level 20 at the moment still using 2x level 14 purple guns and 1x level 18 pink gun. Seen a couple orange items for sale (eg level 15 4500 damage rocket laucher with the Nukem red text for $40,000) and ignored it

Then I learnt what the Nukem red text does - creates a nuke instead of an explosion on impact
