Anyone know the traffic situation on Bosmansdam Road in the mornings (7-8am), coming from Plattekloof Road going all the way to Century Ave? Any suggestions or alternatives? Obviously not the N1 coming from Plattekloof.

Google maps says heavy traffic as you approach the N7, estimated travel time?

There are 4 Intersections/traffic lights which basically lock down the whole area between 7 and 8 am, so the earlier the better.
1- The Montague Gardens intersection being the main one
2- 2 sets of traffic lights crossing the N7
3- The Edgemead/Bothasig traffic intersection.

Dont come down Bosmansdam road from Plattekloof (RED), rather climb on N7 an then merge with Bosmansdam at the onramp. (YELLOW)
Major bottlenecks more up in Bosmansdam because of Lane merges (2 Lanes into 1, Intersections etc) .

Even this (Below ) is less travel time but more travel distance compared to down Bosmansdam from Plattekloof .

Would love to leave at that time, wife is never ready lol. Actually got to leave at 6.15am today. Still took 40min from Kraaifontein to Parow. But Mondays is worse, would probably been like 20min on a another day. I get up 5.30am every day :( . Get home normally at 6pm, 12 hours days are killing me.

We'll having tried all the routes, those two (especially image 2) seems to be the quickest and most fuel efficient way to go.

I'm in the same boat from 1 March, got told to avoid Bosmansdam and rather come in from the N1 and hit sable road. Either way, it depends what TomTom tells me on the day.

Well I was trying to avoid the N1 coming from Parow area.
Seems like Bosmansdam is no better than the N1. Why were you told that? Will it still be quicker than Bosmansdam Road?

I'm going to work down the other end, near Ratanga and it might be quicker than Bosmansdam for me to go down Sable; but if you're going to Century avenue, then I wouldn't want to go all the way down to Sable. Either way, it's going to be trial and error for the both of us later this week. ;)

Just to add: I travel the opposite way in the mornings, and every day the traffic coming the other way is very bad. Avoid bosmansdam into town from about 7am onwards.

Besides the horrible traffic, EVERY day, you will have to be on the lookout for:

1. Taxis - Stopping wherever the hell they want to, mostly at intersections, in the middle of the road, then just wait for about 5 minutes so that they can grab passengers.
2. Golden Arrow buses, they are on par with the taxi drivers IMO, disregard rules of the road, and basically don't give a continental if you are next to them, they WILL change from the far left lane to the far right lane so that they can get onto Montague Drive, no matter what or who is in their way.
3. Idiotic Pedestrians, who think that the bridge walk way is there just for show. A number of pedestrians get hit every morning and afternoon on Bosmansdam.
4. 18 wheelers and other trucks - see Golden Arrow buses above.

I for one avoid Bosmansdam like the plague.

Well 1st April for me keep me posted

Wow didn't know it was that bad that you guys actually try to avoid it.

Another option for me, take the N1 from plattekloof till the N7, then N7 till Bosmansdam off ramp.
Still joining Bosmansdam but would cut out half of it, doubt will help thought coz that's where the problem starts? Can anyone comment

Yea I don't need to go so far in as sable Road and then back, going near curo school.

Try to drive with the N7 direction N1, take Plattekloof offramp en turn right towards Makro. Turn left and then left into Montague drive which is still very quiet that time of the morning.

DO NOT GO ONTO BOSMANSDAM you will commit suicide. I honestly dont know why they dont redo that N7-Bosmansdam intersection thing.

They should make it like the Plattekloof one.
