Bothasig exchange (021 558 xxxx)

hi all

thought I would let everyone know that it would APPEAR that bothasig is up to its old tricks again. Ok, technically speaking its not really bothasig that is the issue but the routing that happens after that in Table View buy anyway...

22h30 last night when I got home... rock solid! I fired up some online gaming and was jamming with a mate



23h10 things started to wobble a bit. Zero activity on the line aside from online game and skype (which doesnt have this effect on the line). I noticed reduced call quality and some lag in-game (which prompted me to fire up a ping again)



23h53 things went back to rock solid, but only for a moment. There were quite a few of these moments, obviously I didnt capture each and every one.



00h19 all hell broke loose...

 
Whereabouts in Bothasig are you? I haven't noticed any issues lately, so please don't jinx my line.

What are you running at? 4mbs?
 
I do care, Bothasig exchange is screwed (I am on it)...but what can you do? So frustrating.

I have been downloading like a beast and playing games. My latency has been pretty stable, so cant really complain. I'm guessing it also depends how far from the exchange you are? I do know that the Telkom techie a few months ago said they were looking at replacing one of the main underground cables as it wasn't in a very good state. Then again this is telkom, so that being said...who knows how long that will take.

Edgmead Exchange has been stuffed for months, Telkom never fix it. Lines don't even sync at proper speeds anymore and sync and what ever speeds it feels like
 
been solid for the last week. it really does seem to come and go depending on who is backing up the internet
