You explicitly mentioned taking the boerewors out of the pan ... but you did not mention putting the sandwich on a plate ... I am confused!

Of course .... the only way you can ever say something is gross is if you've tried it and disliked it, likewise for saying something is nice.

Both are good, specially with biltong powder, cheese or polony.

The trick with bovril is you have to spread it really thin if you can't handle the taste. Bovril is really strong so don't spread it the same as any other spread - otherwise no wonder you think it is yuck.

After removing the wors from the pan and putting it aside on a plate, I add a large spoonful of marmite to the wors sauce left in the pan, then I stir the marmite in, while the sauce simmers for about 3 minutes, I get plates out, on each plate goes two slices of bread, and a piece of boerewors, I then fetch the pan with the marmite sauce and liberally soak the bread slices with the sauce, I put the pan aside and then dig in to my food - yum-yum yum-yum

Prefer Marmite over Bovril - but if I had to choose a spread it would be a Anchovette or avo toast.
