Boy killed after being mistaken for monkey

Let's wait for some rotten apples to come in here and say that the boy shouldn't have been there in the first place.
That would be correct. He shouldn't have been stealing fruit. But we don't shoot children for petty theft, especially edibles, something most people have done. To bad the old guys eyesight isn't what it use to be, still good enough to hit his target though. Sad situation.

Durban – An 87-year-old man appeared in the Umzinto Magistrate’s Court on Monday for allegedly shooting a 12-year-old boy he apparently mistook for a monkey, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

The boy was climbing a guava tree on the man's property in Breamar on Sunday when he was shot in the head and upper body, Sergeant Patrick Msomi told News24.

The boy died on the scene.

So the rasist bastard could aim for the head but could not differentiate between a monkey's head abd that of a human being.

I hope his old saggy ass rots in jail!

Good thing you told me, the article didn't mention the race of either the victim or the shooter. Journalists these days... completely undermining the "Keep Racism Alive" agenda

I don't think you're allowed to shoot them either. That said the vervet monkeys over here have become real pests, several huge troops around and they are pretty destructive mofos. People think they're cute but I cannot stand them.
Depending on your area bylaws...

You can lodge a complaint with your local traffic department.
They can then assess and come out to cull them. However they will not "cull" the whole troop.
Normally a bit of a wait as they try wait for a few complaints even before assessing the problem.

Oh well, there is zero chance its a black man that shot a white boy, zero chance black man shot a black boy...
It has to be one of these white people that think black people are monkeys! Like Penny Sparrow!

sounds like you are the racist. you have no proof except for a half ass news article.

here's a couple of items that you didn't think about:

1. you don't know what his eye sight is
2. distance from tree
3. if the sun was in his eyes or not
4. what kind of clothing the child was wearing

what do you say now?

How do you know this guy is a racist? He is 87, are probably half blind. And the skin colour is not mentioned anywhere.

Following the media trend we can almost be certain it was a black man that shot a black kid.
But will need to wait for more info before we point the finger.

If it was a white man the heading would be "Racist white man shot innocent black kid"

So please no need for your one track racist mind it is not needed thank you

The boy was apparently in a quava tree. If he had been in a banana tree the old man might have had a chance.
