Why do you need fire bricks? I have a firepit/braai build with normal bricks that has been in use for 15 years. The paint will be heat resistant, but it won't make the bricks heat resistant.
Hope you are using heat resistant bricks.
Indeed. Normally a braai would be built using bricks like ROK. The have a very hard, dark exterior with sometimes some visible bubbling on the edges where all the liquid has been baked out of them. These bricks normally have been fired twice and are this fire bricks although not officially. Why do you need fire bricks?
