Brackenfell Area anyone else?

That is a typical Telkom answer, so why is it that other ISP work and Telkom does not, they usually put you on hold at that point to check with someone and never come back.

Other ISPs route international traffic via different international ISPs

LOL, Sorry I know I was trying to be sarcastic. (This also happens when you spend the last 60min on the phone with Telkom) I am so used to Telkom trying to feed us bs all the time you try to get answers from them, I am having difficulty believing anything they say these days.

Because other ISP's use a different route and Tier 1 back-haul to transit there traffic on, and those transits are not affected.
In part Telkom is talking the truth, they don't have control over the internet or other routes.
You can see the link to London is perfect 158ms. but then onward on telia there is a balls up.

So if the problem is not resolved, then telkom could renegotiate there transit routes, but it is not stuff that happen over night, as it is contractual agreements.
But then also they could ask there onward providers to re-route until the general routes have been repaired.
Not sure what kind of Service Level agreements are in place.....

Those on Brackenfell exchange or in the area who would like to get VDSL should make sure they have registered there line or address for this service, it will give indication to Telkom where to prioritize roll-out in the next financial budget year.
I sure can do with a stable MSAN closer to home and some descent speeds, it will even pave the way for Fiber Optic to the home.

Thanks will do jannier.

Anyway can't believe i have to wait until at least February to see any improvement on my line.

But at least we getting interaction from telkom, telling us what is wrong and when to expect it fixed, that way we can plan for alternatives.
Even tho it ain't always positive the feedback, the fact that we get interaction is a huge plus point to telkom.

I prefer being informed good or bad news rather then being left hanging in the dark.
