Brackenfell WISP Options

I am looking at ditching my crappy 4Mbps ADSL service for a fixed wireless solution. Anyone in and around Protea Heights in Brackenfell that can recommend a WISP?

Note: I was told their network is unshaped/uncapped and the website is a bit outdated.

I would stay away from this guy, I mistakenly recommended him to two of my clients and had a link with him from home, the network is slow, unreliable and my customers are swearing at me daily.

I cancelled my home connection in July, went to sonic wireless, and while there were some teething problems i am happy to say i have a TRUE stable, unshaped and uncapped 10mbps link.

Hmm... I think I'll rather go with sonic instead then. Sent them an online enquiry so will wait and see what happens. Are you aware if they have any FUP though?

Have a read through on this thread, you will see pros and cons about Sonic.

As for the FUP, i use close to 200GB pm (mostly streaming) and they haven't said anything yet.

I have used 1.2TB 2 months ago with no issues and very little downtime..just make sure you have good signal and ccq and you should not have issues esp if the tower has a fiber line that you connect to

Read all 15 pages... dropped them an email and hopefully they'll get back :)
My usage is also around 200GB, so I think it shouldn't be an issue. Hope I'll be one of the lucky ones that won't experience those issues in that thread tho :D
 
Thanks for all the feedback thus far guys. Seems like there are quite a few option available in the area. Time to decide I guess.
