Brand new Car. Help me decide?

Asking the real question here:

Picanto 1.2 Smart M/T or Sandero Stepway Dynamique?

Both will be a big downgrade from my Fiesta ST (when it was still working). I like the Kia for the Apple Airplay and I like the Stepway for the space and turbo engin.
 
I've had a rental Sandero, and have never driven the picanto. But there is no way the picanto could be worse. Plus the picanto seem to be a very modern car, with some nice features.

Bought the Picanto 1.2 Auto, lekker car I must say. Light on fuel, easy to park, does battle a bit with cross winds on the freeway, but a good buy.

Which Sandero though?
Old or new?

I've driven both and the new one is not bad at all...
The old one was a piece of crap.
 
It all depends on you in the end
Personally I would buy the stepway dynamique, R199 900, Standard park assist, navigation and other toys
For plus minus the same toys the Picanto will cost you around R209 595

The Picanto is small and good for those whom like sailing on a windy day on the highway
The stepway is nice and big with lots of space

Long story short, it's been in and out for repairs for over 3 months now. Have spend R30k thus far and latest quote is R33k. I just can't anymore. And it's sad, cause it's the best car I have ever had.

Test driving one this afternoon. Just think the engin is a bit to small for an auto box...

You are correct and I agree, but the Picanto has Apple Carplay. :p

The new one. Had it as a rental in Johannesburg in December. Struggled even more than our little up with any little hill. Had less than 10 000km's on. Had a hesitation at full throttle at almost any speed, the cabin layout was just odd, and the aircon was struggling to demist the windscreen, as in, it was almost as if it wasn't on at all.

Didn't like the car at all.

R200K for a Picanto???? WTF :wtf: When did the price go up like that?

What about a demo, or slightly used car? You could get a Polo (almost added entry level fiesta as well) or a few other bigger cars for similar money.

In and out for repairs.............best car you've had ......It can only get better, huh????

How about a Honda Jazz, very reliable. Earlier models was most reliable car of several years.........won't go in and out for repairs, as much.

Having spent 3 months struggling with a Fiesta and this breaking and then that breaking, I would not get one again. I actually considered it, but Ford tried to fsck me with the deal they prepared and that was the last straw.

I might look at demo or slightly used, but again, with all the shit I have been thru with a car without warranty, I would rather buy something brand spanking new.
 
Not sure what your budget is but if you are buying new at about R200k I'd rather get a second hand something better. "K*k" answer I know but I'd take this Mazda 2 over any of those.

EDIT: extend the warranty for up to 5 years

There are better cars to buy for that kind of money. My budget cap is at R200k.

I am also looking at this, but currently not at the top of my list, as I want to buy new. :)
 
I just checked the Picanto actually starts at R137k. With lots of nice features coming as standard.
That said, I like the Sandero more. Even has cruise control.
