Brave's security-focused browser officially launched

Privacy-focused browser Brave has officially launched its first stable release on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.

The browser, which has been in beta since January 2016 and has 8.7-million monthly active users, offers users protection from third-party adverts, trackers, and autoplaying videos.

@Method , I do most of my work in browser via SAAS sites.
I have been using Vivaldi for years, as back then it was the only properly stable browser that could handle so many open working tabs. However of late, Vivaldi has being giving random slows downs on some tabs, as well as completely shutting down.
Have you experienced any issues like this with Brave?

Um - claims to support PRIVACY .. but no source code available ... I don't think so. I'll stick to Firefox - at least it can be independently reviewed to confirm all claims.

No sorry. I use it for work as well, but don't have any slow down issues.

The only issue I've had with Brave is that the iOS app seems to be a do be a battery drainer.

Cool thanks for that... but why don't they then show on their main website that the source code is available. And how do you know for sure that what it build is the exact same as the easily downloadable binaries. Like I said, for a browser claiming privacy, you'd think this would be high on the agenda.

Both trying to update my outdated Brave installation and installing a new instance aren't working for me.

Not really seeing any benefit over using the new Edge tbh.

The first thing you do with any browser should be installing uBlock Origin. Nothing overly special about having it built-in except on mobile where extensions usually aren't available.
