Brawl over disabled bay caught on video

Cape Town - Three men claim they were viciously assaulted by shopping mall security guards in Cape Town after they parked illegally in a disabled bay.

The two brothers and their cousin, from Pelican Park, say they tried to move their red Ford Sierra but were parked in.

Nine security guards then allegedly attacked them, leaving them with severe head injuries and memory loss.

Now police are investigating claims the three may be linked to the infamous “Kumar beggars”.

The “Kumars”, who claim to be holidaymakers from Durban, pretend that their car has broken down and ask unsuspecting strangers for money.

This sounds like nonsense. Unless it's a case of mistaken identity, the neighbourhood watch in the area was tracking them the whole day as reports of the"Kumar gang" came in from the community. They had supposedly been sighted at various spots around the south peninsula on that and preceding days. When they got to the mall they apparently approached multiple shoppers with their usual routine, claiming their car was broken down in the disabled bay and they needed money. Allegedly, when a few shoppers declined and called them out for parking in a disabled bay, they became aggressive, at which point security had to forcibly remove them. The picture of what looks like that very same car is in multiple posts on Facebook at various locations where they were running their scam. I suspect they are now trying to turn this into a victimhood play for money. They were arrested in Fish Hoek shortly afterwards by Fish Hoek SAPS.

Tho to be honest their red Ford has a reputation, and is often pointed out on the neighborhood watch as a bunch of scammers. Unless theirs is a different vehicle from that of the Kumars. I doubt it tho.

If they are the Kumars though, it was coming for a long time.

You can clearly see that they were not parked in.In the article Kumar # 1 said that he pushed the guard after he threatened them, so they started it.

As far as I'm concerned extreme violence is a perfectly suitable punishment for any moron illegally parked in a disabled zone. I just wish they would treat other idiots who illegally park in disabled zones with the same punishment.
