Brian Molefe: I resigned and retired at the same time

My favourite part remains the motives of the petition:

In papers seen by Fin24, Molefe says the court “erred in its finding that the early retirement agreement was a deliberate scheme devised by Eskom with my involvement to afford me pension benefits to which I was not entitled.”

He maintains that the agreement was concluded on the basis of a “common (mis) understanding” by him, Eskom and the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund (PPF) rules.

In a nutshell, we were all wrong and as we all know two wrongs make a right.

It was an 'honest mistake', so he thinks he shouldn't be disadvantaged by the errors of others. Poor legal argument IMO.

They should charge the people that ok'ed the payout it to start with. Even it was under Brian's orders, they knew they were committing a crime and corruption
