Hi

I bricked my router! Only wlan works and no ethernet!

How do I unbrick it? I tried google and i read something about doing an FTP upload of the firmware but i only had 1 second or something to start the upload....?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

I bricked my WAP54G and got pretty good instructions from
http://wiki.openwrt.org/WAP54GHowto#head-c950a660deffd00e1fba73d9f8cb71ee6678ce08

While the model is different, the technique is still the same; essentially to open 2 command prompt windows on your PC. In one ping your router with 'ping -t 192.168.1.1' (assuming 192.168.1.1 is the router's address). In the other type 'tftp -i 192.168.1.1 PUT <PC-local-path-to-a-Linksys-recent-.trx-for-the-router>', but don't hit return until the router starts sending a response to the ping.

In any case, googling for linksys brick will probably turn up plenty of hits.

Good luck... bricking something is not good.

I bricked a Cisco router once :o had to drive out to unbrick it

I think the correct term would be "borked" but bricking is also correct in this situation... :D

I quote: RoDent:: If you haven't bricked at least one device, you haven't learnt anything...

I have bricked several devices over the years, but have always managed to revive them... It's all part of the fun!
