Bring back these gaming franchises!

You mean there aren't franchises that have been repurposed yet for no good reason? Sierra and Apogee have been very stoic in their reluctance, but no-one knows who owns the rights anymore.

Bullfrog : Dungeon Keeper
Blizzard: Warcraft III expansions/new. WoW with updated graphics/new starting zones, started to get really bored and quit.
Microsoft: Also Age of Empires

Picture in the article reminded me how great an achievement the MechWarrior series was, just like most of Activision's work. These may come back, but won't ever be as good :)

I actually miss the memorising keyboard smashing games like:

Dragon's Lair was cooler.

Where's the Baldur's Gate at?

This is where it is at, and probably the best we can hope for:

Beamdog has confirmed that the mysterious "Adventure Y" is in fact a new Baldur's Gate game. It won't be a sequel, however, but will instead take place in the gap between the Enhanced Editions of the original game and Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn.

Those used to ROCK!

They are baaack : http://www.sierra.com/kingsquest

Anyway, personally i'd like to have seen a Dune 3 , or something more in that universe, hell even an RPG / Shooter in that universe would make me excited.
