Bring on the bandwidth

The African dream! Only seems to me that is where it will stay! I lost all hope of any real progress any time soon! This GVT will keep on getting new experts advise untill one tells them what they want to hear and that is that what they are doing is the best for the country!

Speed is nothing if you are capped, you don't need OMGWTFLOL speeds for net access, only for local content service like streaming etc.. netconnection for residential access doesn't have to be high. Telkom has turned the flat rate system into a more expensive dial up in a sense with rental, usage cap, and speed limits. :( Its sad for me to see how engineering tech advances are kinda abused in a sense for corp's to make sick amounts of money.

De ja vu

Sutherland advised local loop unbundling, the effective use of available spectrum, allowing self-provisioning and more open access to international access as drivers of competition in the local telecoms arena.
It's really sad that the above quotation sums up precisely what we've all said is desperately needed here in South Africa.

Excessive profiteering is the cancer to captalism, slowly killing off the economy and stifling growth, employment and the upliftment of the people.

The fact that factions within our own government fail to see the conflict of interest in being large shareholders in Telkom and SNO-T only serves to justify the slow reform and continuing exploitation of the consumer.

... /wakes up, rubs eyes and wonders what brought on that moment of clarity. Can't have clarity, let's eat more doughnuts :p /goes back to sleep.
