Yes, I'm slightly crazy about the old grouch and the townfolk and the scenery myself. I read somewhere that Martin Clunes had said he enjoyed "terrorising that horrible, horrible man," or something to that effect, but I actually can't help feeling sorry for the character, and Clunes' acting on those rare occasions when the Doc is trying his utmost to express empathy or happiness is simply sublime.
 
^Off to the UK in a month and I'd love to go to Port Isaac. Unfortunately it's more than a day trip from London and expensive to sleep over... maybe pick a place further up the coast, but the train is also a bit costly.

Busy grabbing and taking forever. But I scanned through S01E01 and the first thing I noticed is that HM has a cigarette in her hand in every scene I happened to stop at. Gonna love this show....

If this was the sixties or seventies and that gorgeous constable from Endevour and the young Jane Tennyson were around, I'd be so bad.

You can't see it in the photo, but can definitely see it in the tv show.

Hmm... first few seasons were mostly about the caddy who was a guy. This one is fairly unique in that it seems we might actually come to a conclusion by the end of the season. I HOPE.
