Broadband connection on farm

I would like to find out if there is someone out there that can help me. I live on a farm and we all know telkom can not supply me with a adsl line out here. Can someone come up with a solution.

Get yourself a hsdpa modem (Needs a SIM-card)*. Buy a data packet from your provider of choice and viola, your connected. Speed depends on your reception tipe (GPRS, EDGE, 3G, HSDPA) and signal strength. I recommend the Huawei USB modem. Retails for around R1500-2000.
*By a cheap starter pack model. Simcard is locked to the provider thus you'll have to buy a data packet from that provider. Bit tricky to get it running but once you up an going there's no looking back.

For sure, but looking at the coverage maps, there are some large dead areas still, and understandably so - very scarcely populated areas.

Although the GPRS coverage is almost saturated.

Farmers have lots of money normally! have alook at a vsat solution perhaps from one of the international providers.

Better don some flaming protection! Farmers have very little money, don't you know. That's how they can afford the new merc every year!
