Hi All

I hoping someone might be able to give some advice. We have a client who has moved their offices to a new premises a few months back. The problem now is that they are experiencing broadband dead zones which is affecting a few of their offices including the CEO's office. It doesn't matter which service provider you're with, when you're in that area you cellphone signal dies (this also includes 3g modems). Are there any solutions to overcoming this problem, perhaps using some type of signal booster or similar. Any advice would be appreciated.
 
Would these Poynting antennas boost the signals in the office area? All they really want to do is to be able to make and receive calls on their cellphones.
 
If it is just one supplier(vodacom/MTN etc) you can phone them and ask them to fit a repeater/booster .
You may also be getting interference unless the signals are just generally weak there , if you suspect interference get some one to run a spectrum analyzer there looking for interference on the 900 meg band .

The little research I've managed to do indicates that if we fit any type of antennas then a licence is required. Someone had also advised that it would be best to contact one of the service providers and enquire about a solution from them. Don't know what the costs would be like though. Anyone perhaps know of any suppliers or installers I could contact in the Cape Town area that deal with this type of solutions?

I would contact all the service providers. Your client cannot be the only on in the area with the problem so it is in all the service providers interest to investigate what they can do.

Poynting while providing good equipment are not going to have a solution for the problem you have.

As it affects all cellular networks, it is cheaper and more effective to establish and aliminate source of interference.
