How can the EU achieve that all Europeans – from the North of Finland to the South of Italy, from the Western Ireland to Eastern Romania – have access to broadband Internet?

There are some parts here in the UK countryside that don't have broadband either. If you live in the countryside, a 56k modem is your friend, or gprs as the chance of 3G is almost nil

But they're trying to do something about it and being EU, will most likely actually achieve their goal.
The rural areas in SA don't even have electricity or running water, what do they care about internet access?
And these are the "masses" voting for our current guavamunt, so there's less drive from the people to fix this as far as guavamunt is concerned.

Indeed, it would not be in their interests to give them internet access because it might result in them growing a brain and realising what a sham the ANC is.

Every time I see "Broadband" in an article or headline, I think: "Define Broadband?"

Everytime I see "broadband" in a title, along with "free" or "imminent" or "cheaper" I am immediately sceptical and I tend to not even bother to read it.

We should have a poll: which is the most meaningless word: broadband, free, cheap, uncapped, unlimited, unshaped, soon (in the case of neotel), better, faster, ... etc.
