So, Telkom finally decided to come and install my line, waited almost 2 months. After installation, I started surfing like never before (coming from 64k ISDN it was like a dream come tru).

Anyway, today I d/l'ed SAIX ADSL Stats Analyser and was shocked to find that usage was @ 169MB in 3 days only, just surfing the net, with the exception of daily antivirus updates and 1 software update of 25MB. I confirmed this with the MWEB BBand usage tool.

Can this be correct? I suppose it is, would just like to know the amount of MB (or gigs) you guys use per day just surfing the net.

Stats as per - SAIX ADSL Stats Analyser:

17 Sept - 39MB
18 Sept - 85MB
19 Sept - 45MB

that's actually quite low - i average around 300-400MB per day surfing, email, a few downloads and the occasional webcam sessions on msn. if you on a 3GB package you should be able to use 100MB per day.

but apart from that, welcome to the south african way of broadband internet. it's only when you get ADSL that you actually realise how little a measly 3GB worth of data is.

I have averaged about 110 MB per day for the first 9 days. For some reason the SAIX ADSL Stats Analyser does not seem to indicate my usage since 15h00 yesterday. WebAfrica usage log shows info until today at 15h00.

Any idea what gives?

Thanx for the replies guys. 1 Nov. is really gonna suck.

You signed up with a 3GB account?

Yip, with MWEB till end of month. Must give them a months notice before cancellation. Needed my E-Mail address to stay the same. Changing to Axxes next month, but thinking of getting Web Africa's 30GB\R199 account just for d/ling.
