Broadcasters set up shop in SA

This is a good thing, I hope Fox comes in as well to give some competition to the liberal propaganda that is spread in the news here in SA.

BTW - if cnbc - which is a business channel and not general news - is such a propaganda machine what would you call SABC???
 
I wonder if CNBC Africa will replace CNBC Europe on DStv? If that is the case I sincerely hope they will keep bringing us Late Night with Conan O'Brien, NBC Nightly News, and Meet the Press!

South Africa is so deprived that this anouncement of a single free to air news channel of this minatude can spawn such grandios delusions of euphoria:confused:
 
Here's a bit of a problem/opportunity- ICASA is supposed to be the broadcasting regulator as well. I'm not sure exactly how far their powers go as the broadcasting regulator, but either way they are going to play (or be expected to play) some kind of role in the new channels.

Given that ICASA is the broadcasting regulator, good things could come of this; but so could bad things. Either way, bring it on :)

Agreed! But who can really get used to the Brits, BBC and Sky is more than a mouthful and their politics? Man!... it can be dumbfounding. No respect for their leadership!
