So I tried to replace the bezel on my laptop and I did but I wrecked the LCD in the process.

Now the screen is just white, if I open a window a grey box would appear. I know this because I have it connected through HDMI to a monitor.

Is my LCD damaged or the cable? I want to know if it's worth while buying the whole unit(LCD + bezel) together and replacing it.

Probably lose plug. Whether it is worth to replace the whole panel, it depends on the laptop.
Did you use service manual? I always do. Give it to a friend to not get emotions control you. :)

If it was a lose plug I wouldn't have a white display with shadows appearing with a Window on the screen.
Checked the plugs and no difference so I think I messed up the LCD since nothing was wrong with it prior.

Yeah I used the service manual, Lenovo Flex 2 so it would be a waste to use it like a desktop or give it away.

It has to be inspected again with checking all individual wires.

But the port on the board isn't the issue right? Since I'm getting some display and my HDMI port it working.

If I buy the complete assembly with the LCD and touch digitizer with new cables, it should work?

Q1. The fact that HDMI port is working shows that display adapter is working. Broken onnection to the LCD panel is a most pobably a cause. It can be also faulty electronics inside LCD panel or LED driver board (usually located inside display lid), I see no reason suspect why it should happen.

Q2. Yes. Expensive.

The cost of the assembly 2nd/refurbished is about R2500 excluding shipping and customs but the laptop is an i7 with 12GB RAM and an SSD.

Bring it to sajunky together with sixpak of premium SA beer. If you afford such expensive device, you have perhaps some other broken stuff, it will pay for my time. :)

I might be in JHB at the end of this month, maybe you could take a look before I pull the trigger on a new assembly.

Will PM you.

You are welcome. I stay on the farm, but close to the highways.

This is what the screen looks like.
