Hi All
I am looking for some advice. I have had 3 Seagate hard drives die on me within a 3 month span. I was able to get the data off one before it died completely, but with the other two I wasn't as lucky.
I've seen a lot of people have had success with it just being the head that got stuck. They all make the same sound, a high pitched chirping sound and then windows says the drive is damaged and cannot be loaded and it disconnects it. So none of the recovery software will work.
I've opened the one that I already had the data copied off from and the head and drives move smoothly and the head wasn't resting on the drive when I opened it.
Can anyone shed some light on what the issue might be?
I've attached a YouTube link to a video that shows the drive starting up.
