Broken TV screen out the box.

Take it back tomorrow morning, and ask for the manager. Explain your situation, and say that you are willing to prove your case by going through the CCTV footage to show that the salesman did not check the TV with you.

Easiest way to prove their fault. Their stores are riddled with cameras.

Actually on 2nd thought - tomorrow is black Friday, so maybe not the best time to go to Makro

And I have to be at work by 2pm, so I cant really afford to faff around there
Hopefully can walk in and out of returns. And who ever asks or try to stop you

Make it clear you aren't going into the shop. Only returns

What size tv?

Some pics of the damaged screen.

Just be calm and explain your case and explain why you would damage a TV you just purchased. Good luck and hopefully they replace it for you.

Their call centre is totally useless. I had to go in-store and speak to their support manager to resolve a TV issue where them or the repair damaged the TV either enroute or whatever. They refunded me on the sport after consulting the store manager.

Good service from Makro there...
Agreed.
I was honestly expecting the worst.
The guy at the returns counter called the sales rep, who then came to have a look. They then called one of the managers and he told them to credit me.
No interrogations or explanations needed from my side.
I was very impressed.
Sales rep then gave me his full attention, brought me the forms for TV lic, made copies, assisted at the till, we unboxed and powered up the TV and he walked me to door.
The place was packed, was in and out in roughly 45 minutes.

Good show Makro. Glad you got sorted e4et. Actually quite sad that we always expect the worst when it comes service delivery in SA.
