Browser wars heat up in the mobile space

Haven't tested the mobile version, but I did installed the Yahoo firefox add-on....and am I impressed......NOT! Biggest pile of K@RK, slowing down my browsing experience.
 
No mentioned of Dolphin Browser. I thought it was rocking the airwaves, or is it just me?

Its a nice little browser..but I think once people have ICS on their phones then it will take a nose dive bacause of Chrome. I for once will install Chrome + Onavo app for compression once my RAZR has got ICS and then just do away with Opera Mobile.

ae I am very wary of the search engine behemoth becoming a second Microsoft, so much that we'll need governments to intervene again. Nah I am not impressed by their ambitions.

I don't think you need to be too concerned as there is now more competition than ever, and many people just prefer to have a choice.

I for example just prefer Safari on the Mac (I know its not great on Windows), even though Google is also good on a Mac.

Great to have choice; Microsoft was for the majority of the time always restricted to Windows (its brief stint on the Mac was nothing to talk about)

Google on the other hand is a multi-platform browser and is fundamentally under the covers what I deem to be the best open source web engine i.e. webkit, same one used btw by Safari, Blackberry, Nokia, ...

Hence I think it's less likely we'll end up with a Microsoft type behemoth.

My point is more iro Android i.e. I would have expected Android to have always sported their best browser -- it now just seems like a grave after thought?

Btw The native browser has always been one of my biggest pet peeves with Android.

I use Dolphin Mini and it's way better than anything else I've used. Compact, tabs, ready to use and lots of little features I find useful.
 
Just trying chrome now on one x.. the experience is far better than the stock browser. there is however no flash support so I personally wouldn't make it my default..but damn it's really really nice for browsing. better than dolphin, opera, firefox, stock ICS browser

I really find it strange that people still associate so much priority to Flash...

For example: I use Safari as my default browser on the iPhone and Mac; and revert to either Chrome (Mac) or Photon (iPhone) only when I need to see flash. Btw this doesn't in my experience happen very often (once or twice in the last 6 months).

So why would you not choose to use Google Chrome on Android as your primary browser, and only switch to Dolphin or the Stock browser when there is a site limited to flash?

Simple, as I can open YouTube sites on My tablet even if they blocked for mobile. All I have to do is select desktop view. On my iPad I have no way of bypassing this.

So long as there is cases like above I would like my browser to support it.

Edit: oops did not see the switch option, my bad in fact this is exactly what I do with FF.

I don't have that installed.

Mind checking the links in the iPhone thread and see if they work. Not for me but for Dobly that was complaining.

They all do when you switch to flash mode i.e. you can choose between mobile or desktop.

Can't go by what Dolby says in most cases; you know that of course ;)

Ps so do all the crappy flash ads (if that blows your hair back; I'm sure it doesn't in your case :p)
