Hi Guys,

So, i am starting my studies again and looking to enrol for Bsc in Informatics at UNISA.

I am a bit nervous about the course because i have no previous experience or knowledge of programming and no clue what to expect. That's why i am here :)

I would like to know if any of you were in the same situation as me that took the course, and what were your experience?

Depends what Modules you are registering for.
Just registered for INF1511, Delphi.
So far its interesting and not that difficult. Concepts are easy to grasp.
I am not a programmer, but I am in IT. And did a bit of C++ years ago.
But it isnt as bad as i thought it would be.
Except that there are 15 assignments - 1 every week and they are compulsory.

Im currently doing bsc informatics through unisa. I do have programming experience but a lot of the content i learned through unisa has given me a far better grounding. I highly recommend bsc informatics as it covers subjects such as business and accounting. This is invaluable skills in the workplace and for yourself personally.

If you dont have programming experience it just means that you will have to spend a bit more time learning the subjects. Go for it.

I finished my BSc Informatics last year. The introduction to programming in it isn't hard at all.
The degree overall just needs a lot of hard work and dedication.

does BSC Informatics include any science subjects
when i first registered for informatics with unisa 10 years ago it was a BCom.

What is your experience now that you completed it? Did it meet your expectations?

No.

But if you are already a UNISA student then just do 2-3 of the modules as NDP (Non Diploma Purposes) and then apply for credit transfer (DSAR04 form).
