So I got my very first BSOD for the first time in years. I minimized my call of Duty black Ops, pasted a screen shot and then when I clicked to maximize the game again this BSOD showed up.

BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

*** STOP: 0X0000000A (0X0000000 .. .. . .XFFFFF80003282F9F)

I recently got a new graphics card...

I want to know please if it's just a software problem or a hardware problem.
:confused:

I can help out there as I recently fixed someone's pc where that was happening. It could be one of many things including driver incompatibility.

Having said that, there is a "bug" with windows 7 and Windows server 2008 AFAIK where you get a memory leak, I downloaded the hotfix, installed it on the pc and the problem went away.

Will have a look for it on google. I have the download link but these hotfixes are password protected and the passwords keep changing.

Edit: Here you go http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Windows-Microsoft-BSoD-Hotfix-OS,9637.html

Just backup your pc and make a restore point before installing the hotfix in case this isn't the problem you're having.

Urgh! my last two graphic card updates both led to my windows installations (XP and Win7) becoming very unstable. On the one machine I ended up replacing everything in my search for a fix.

One of the things that eventually helped me (I could replicate at will when running Assassin Creed) was boosting the voltage to the RAM chips and also ensuring that the fans were keeping the PC cool enough.

Good luck - that BSOD message is a bugger to nail

If you're on WIndow 7.. Try going on their forum.. they helped me many times with my problems.. :)

I got the same thing a few times in Black Ops, and only Black Ops, out of the many games I play on this PC.

BO = POS.

I wouldn't worry unless it reoccurs or happens in other games or apps.

Do you perhaps have an unlocked HD 6950?
I'm curious to know if it does the same with the 6950 BIOS.

You could perhaps just start off doing a memory test with like memtest x86.

There are definitely tonnes of stuff that I dislike about Black Ops, but thats mainly due to me not having a 4Mbps+ connection. Other than the connection issues, I prefer it to CoD4.

thanks for the replies thus far, I haven't had the problem since the last time, so maybe it was a fluke, you shoulda seen the shock n my face though when it happened :D

@Pada I have a 6870

meh it happened again, again with cod bo it was minimized and I maximized it and boom bsod. I also recently updated to sp1 so it can't be a missing hotfix ect, everything is updated. Is there seriously no one else having this issue? :(

This sounds to me like a Black Ops issue if its only happening when minimize it.

Are you using a dual screen setup?

Sorry to say but this error often means a hardware problem.
I think bad drivers could also cause an error like this.
