BT games - No Support

Got my answer back from the brooklyn store . They expect that I should collect the codes from them in store when picking up the game. They said if the codes arrive late from the supplier I will have the option of coming back for them to the store or they will email them for me but they would call to arrange it if it came to that.

Lets see if our friend Adrian also responds since I send the same email asking him about it.

On taketwo they would be a great option if they had an pretoria branch but since they don't and I like getting my games on launch day they are no option for me, same applies to zaps. Also for Dragon Age Origins BT games are the only option if you want the bonus items since they have an exclusive deal with EA. The other stores get the CE and normal game but only they will be getting the bonus items.

stefan9, the previous couple of times that I've pre-ordered from Take2, my items have been shipped on the day before launch day already and arrived next day...

That's good to know, wasn't aware that they did that. I do all my dvd buying from them so its not that I have something against. But nothing beats walking into the store at 9:00/10:00 am on launch day to receive your preorder.:)

hehe.. Well, only reason I went with BT on this particular order was because of the special pre-order items. Although, as time passes, I'm starting to feel edgy about having done so.

And... :o I'm a sucker for sipping on my morning tea and having it delivered to my door step few minutes after :x I tend to get mine just after 09:00 with CourierIt since it seems their morning route passes my residence :D

You wouldn't happen to know if we're getting the pre-order goodies from BT as some cheaply written-down serial or as a (credit-like) card like the other DLC items?

According to BioWare the preorder items and dlc(stone prisoner ) all come as codes on rave cards. You then have to register the items and dlc codes to your BioWare account and download them.

Once its registered to your account you can download it again if you happen to lose it.

You don't have to be online to play the game but the game will have some community integration with a dragon age social site as well as an ingame store.

Also Warden Keep the second dlc will be available for purchase on launch day. Those who buy the digital deluxe version gets this free but everyone else will probably want to buy and download it before starting their playthrough.

No idea about the size of the download though.

Thanks, I figured all that :p

It's just:

That concerns me. Will my codes be included with the CE when it ships, or will I have to go to their stores and beg for it?

Your getting your copy delivered, right?? I think if that's the case Adrian or someone at head office will have to email you the codes. They won't trust a courier company with the codes.

The dlc and 3 special ce items codes will be in the box already since that's the way it gets packaged. But for the guildmasters belt and memory band I suspect they will have to email you.

I pick mine up in store so if everything goes to plan they should give me the rave cards/codes of the two items when I pick up my copy.

Umm... That's fairly disappointing. Take2 at least have everything cardboard-wrapped and have everything that needs to be in there, in there. The fact that it seems I'm going to have to play wait-and-see with the codes and that I might not even get the cards (for aesthetic purposes, I admit) bugs me. A lot.

Maybe for deliveries BT games will put together their own packaging and put your CE box and the rave cards in their. Mine is merely a guess.

I would suggest emailing Adrian and asking but since he seems to be missing in action I don't know if you will get an answer.

Yeah... Out of curiosity, how do you go about getting a refund and how long does it usually take them? :/

And... really, is there just ONE person who responds to the e-mails?

Never needed a refund so no idea.

He is the only guy listed on their website to contact. So it seems so.

:(

I'm really starting to weigh up whether those pre-order bonus items are worth it... But I shall e-mail them and hope to find out. What concerns me is just, if they won't respond to a simple query, how long will it take them to cancel the order and refund me? :/

Thanks though, stefan9 :)

well im gona phone them tomorrow, i never email cause you wait forever, id rather just phone and be up in there face.

Received the following e-mail at 08:00 this morning:

Hi Oh Great And Uber Ly-Ly (yes, this part is fake),

You are more than welcome to take the refund should the need arise, with regards to the cards, at this point I’m unsure how we will be receiving them, they might be coming bundled with the games already but I’m unsure. If they don’t come bundled we will be e-mailing them to the customers on release day

Kind Regards,

I e-mailed orders @ btgames .co.za and received the response from adrian @ btgames .co.za. So, so far, I'm impressed and happy again and willing to wait it out :)

He replied this morning to me as well. Saying he didn't how the cards will be bundled.

I've never had unresolved issues with BT Games.

I remember last year I tried to get a copy of WOW:TBC expansion and nobody had any. I asked around and BTgames were the only guys to respond (even though it was listed as out of stock)

When the order came through - I noticed it was listed as WoW TBC boardgame or somesuch. Andrew sorted it out for me and sourced a copy from elsewhere - even though they didn't stock (or advertise) it at that stage ... at no extra cost.

I agree - as a business grows, you do make stuff ups. I don't mind it when a company stuffs up, what I DO mind is how they deal with it. I.e. Axxess and their SAIX/IS conversion. Big stuff up - humane solution.
