BTWeb adds onto your cap

i got cataclysm with the 5GB cap for 3 months
i went and created an account on the 14th in the afternoon after work

and according to the support center i somehow downloaded 200 odd MB within 10 minutes of opening my account

i also have a gateway system in place to monitor what is being used and by what.
according to my system i have used 350MB (download and upload combined) and according to BTWeb i have used 550MB

from my conversation with the support guy it seems to be a we don't care, thats what it says on our system type situation

is there anyway to take this further?
 
i didnt even activate my voucher as they ask for my bankign details, they aint getting that anytime soon :P
 
has anybody actually monitored there cap accounts and compared what they actually download to what the ISP says you download?
 
Yes lots of times. Theyre normally accurate. lUsers think they know how much data their systems are using and will often contend the amount being used, but those amounts are more often accurate than not. My ISP uses Telkom as an ISP and theyve always being 100% accurate.
 
They are lucky that I am working every day this month or else they would have had a serious blasting from me.

It is quite scaly that they advertise free data then they put you through a whole signup process with wanting all those details etc and hopefully try to get you to signup for a service that needs paying for.
 
Indeed, I tried signing up.................noticed details requested and immediately left as internal alarms went off all-round.
