I'm looking for an app for my iPhone or iPad that can track expenses and help with a budget. There are so many to choose from but most seem limited in some way. Anyone have any first hand experience with which is the best to choose?

I've tried nearly all of them, can honestly say that 22seven works the best for me. It acts as both a visual spending tracker as well as a tracker against a budget. It's free as well ... In over 24 months that I've had it, I've had no reason to doubt their solid security.

I'm waiting for the steam sale to grab ynab. Best thing ever.

I've used both, they are both "ok"

YNAB requires more manual work - it doesn't plug into your bank account so you need to download the statements from the bank and import it, and then map it.

22seven plugs into the bank, which is good when you have FNB and can create a secondary read only account. You don't have to do much for it to stay up to date.

I prefer 22seven over YNAB just because the version of YNAB I used was very manual. It might have changed recently, I'm not sure.

^Just been using version 4. I like the fact that YNAB isn't all automated. It forces me to look into what I'm spending my cash on.
