Budget Gaming Laptop.

I'm looking for something I can find at my local mall chain store (i.e at Incredible Connection)
It must be able to run games at medium to low settings at 720p.
The budget is R11000
Any recommendations?

Yes, buy a decent gaming PC rather. A laptop in that price range is not going to believer that sort of power.
 
I highly doubt you will find anything decent at that price at a brick n mortarshop. I would recommend going with evetech or rebeltech.

840m would probably do you just fine in the low to medium settings (my 640m handles those settings no problem with BF3, Mass effect 3, CS:GO, Wow)

You missed the word "budget" in the op. Everything else in the price ranged is Intel or 920m.

Yes, just not one worth a ****. The 820/930M's are barely faster than the Intel built-in thing, and the 840/940M are slightly faster than that.

Yes, so they're worse. Doesn't make this one good. Trust me, second hand is the way to go, or just get a desktop.

The OP wants medium @ 720p. Its just not going to happen on a 11k laptop. And max FPS? I doubt it'll even get a decent, constant 30 FPS.
 
What I'm getting from this thread is rather then going with one of Nvidia's low end GPU's, it's best to go with something with Intel HD 5500 and save a couple of bucks.
 
2nd hand you'll get more bang for buck,that price range is just barely useable discrete graphics options

You'd almost be better off with a 5grand laptop for your mobility and a 6grand desktop for games.

That's not my view at all. If you want to game, get a discrete GPU. The 950m notebook poffle listed will be fine for the requirements you listed, as long as you aren't expecting it to max out Witcher 3 or anything.

I hear you. I'll look into getting the one Poffle recommended. Thank you everyone for your input, I learned something today.
