I've been looking everywhere and the product descriptions and packaging never go into much detail as to what they are compatible with. Some say compatible with PC, but none say compatible with Mac. Can somebody please recommend a good budget headset for Mac for listening and talking. Would be much appreciated. If I can buy it online all the better!

I'm sure most headsets would work just fine. Mac computers have the same 3.5" jack input as many PCs do. It' just the recording software that's different. However, Skype, Dragon, ML Dictation, will all work, with just about any headset.

Is this for a desktop or laptop? The macbooks have a single Headphone minijack that also supports headsets like the iPhone ones with the built in microphone. The desktops have both headset and a microphone minijacks.

Or you can use most USB headsets - I think the one I have originally came with a PS2 game(SOCOM?)

It's a Macbook. Really need to stop using the built-in mic.

I used my wife's blackberry headset with mic, it worked better then my samsung's headset with mic.

Using iPhone 5 headset on my MBP - works well i must say.
USB Logitech one works fine too..

I use both for conferencing (Lync)
