Budget laptop for student?

Hi guys :)

I have been doing a lot of searching for a budget laptop (Maximum budget of R4500) which I intend to use for studying. I am going to do courses on programming (Java) so the specs don't need to be out of this world, and with my budget, that wont be the case. I would really appreciate it if somebody could maybe point me to a few deals in my price range? So far my best bet seems to be the Lenovo G400 (They sell at Game for R3999 atm)

My minimum requirements are:

Windows 7 (I prefer Win 8)
2GB DDR3 (4 would be nice, but I can always upgrade it myself later on)
Webcam & Mic (For the course I am doing)
Nothing lower than the Ivy Bridge socket.

I recently bought a laptop for a relative:

Refurbished Dell Latitude E6410
Intel Core i5 Processor M520 2.4GHz
4GB Memory
250GB Hard Drive
DVDRW Drive
14.1 LCD Display (1440 x 900)
Intel HD Graphics
3G Mobile Broadband Card
Wireless
Bluetooth
Windows 7 Professional
1 Year Warranty

Battery life was still fine. The laptop comes with integrated 3G (sim goes under the battery). It also has GPS. The screen looks way better than most laptops (1440x900 @ 14.1"). And my personal favourite: a backlit keyboard.

Price: R3999

Edit: Obviously this is not Ivy Bridge, but I'm not sure why one would make that a minimum requirement with a budget of R4500. If it were me, I'd opt for an overall better second hand machine, even if it's a little older, rather than a new entry level laptop.

Is Web Direct a legit store? I know you said you purchased the laptop from them, but I am always hesitant when it comes to online shops I don't know.

It's legit. The owner is a rep for Web Direct on this forum. His name is Brad. I went to his store in Cape Town in person. No reason to worry.
