Budget Laptop- new or secondhand?

Hi

Looking to buy a budget laptop to meet the needs of student. Willing to spend 3000 to 4000. Just need it to work well without freezing and delays. (Mainly Microsoft Office, Internet browsing, Emails etc.)

Would it be better to buy anew laptop or secondhand one?

If new, which laptop should I get and any sales where i can get the best deal for my buck?

That's a rather modest budget so yes 2nd hand is your best bet. Check out carbonite or the classifieds on here.

Also worth sending a message to [MENTION=51831]Flashgear[/MENTION] to see if he has anything lying around...he usually sells at a higher price point but worth a ask

Also, check with the institution that you are studying at. Some of them provide Office 365 for free, while yoi are a student. E.g. UNISA.

Am at Wits and just noticed they do offer a free download- had no clue so thanks for letting me know
