I am looking to buy a secondhand laptop and havecame accross the one below at Revibe. I have not bought a laptop for a many years so am a bit behind on what these should go for. I have seen the same laptop at a few other places that advertise refurbished laptops for between R7500 and R12000. I have used a similar spec laptop and work for a few years so I know it's quite powerful and is very good quality. Am I able to get something better than the one at revibe at a better price? I am on a tight budget so not looking to spend a lot on someting new. am a .Net developer so its needs to be able to run Visual Studio 2022, SQL server etc.

Has anyone else used Revibe before and can confirm that they are legit. I tried calling the number but it rings and cuts out continuously? Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd go with someone tried and trusted - don't know what area you're in but you can Google Universe Direct or PPS Africa, I've had good pricing and service from both.

Red flags:
.me domain name (Montenegro)
Address has no street number. 14th St, Menlo Park, Pretoria (residential suburb)
Phone number is Cape Town (021)
Easy to set up shopify.com hosted website
"International" company based in a few places:

I'd stay away.

Maybe try Carbonite.
Hi, thanks for the informative reply. I would not have picked up these things. The number is also suspect. Rings then cuts off.

That's expensive for a 8th gen. Get a 11th or 12th gen from carbonite and sorted 👍

Just the link in itself sends of warning signals. I'm not even going to click on it.

That said, carbonite has sellers with good reputations and there are a couple of others.

Personally I can recommend and have used Rafique

There is also nucleas.

As with all refurbished notebooks (and used devices) make sure you do your homework when it comes to the warranty

Thanks a lot. Will check out carbonite. That link does not work btw.

You were right. I did eventually get through on the number they provide. HIghly suspect with strange foreign accent answers. They confirm they have no presence in the country and operate out of Dubai. If you have any issue with the laptop you must send it back to Dubai. Dodged a bullet here.

Came accross this refurbished laptop. Any advice on whether this is a good deal. Did not come across many i7's on carbonite and am a bit skeptical of buying something so expensive from unkown people so will rather stick to reputable companies.

Them not picking up the phone is usually a dead giveaway to stay away.

If you are cape town based, you might want to check out www.UniverseDirect.co.za and www.PCLaptop.co.za

I have been using them for years.

These are my top picks from what they currently have:

They will also do a custom spec for you if you want to bump the storage or RAM.
