Good to know!Don't forget for Bluetooth/wireless connection to the TV to work, the idiots make it MAC sensitive (Hardware Identify is used to filter connecting devices).
i.e. you Samsung & LG tv's only connect to their own sound bars over Bluetooth.
The JVC at that price range is horrible, it's really really bad.
Good to know, looking for one myselfI agree. I bought this one, which I think is the same thing you're talking about, for my parents in December. I would rather read subtitles with no sound than have to experience that POS again. It was faulty the day I got it. Had really arb controls. The sound quality was **** (bass was too overpowering, no way to turn it down). I think a rotten potato could do a better job.
For myself though, I bought this for about R2400 at the time, and haven't looked back. I am really happy with the sound quality.

This is far far better and is roughly the same price as the JVC soundbar. Nice thing is you can also space the speakers better to get a better sound stage.Takealot.com: Online Shopping | SA's leading online store

Yup sounds like the one I had, the sound was muddied, the bass was overpowering and it never remembered any EQ settings you set. I'm so happy with the Microlabs I got, if I put the two speakers together they are as long as my sound bar, they also have all the connections you'd need, optical, spdif, aux and bluetooth, I did pay R1200 in the beginning of the year for them though.I agree. Tink it also depends on the size of the room it is to be used inYup sounds like the one I had, the sound was muddied, the bass was overpowering and it never remembered any EQ settings you set. Not with that JVC soundbar, I was in a room of about 30sqm and it was horrible, moved into a room of 45sqm still horrible. The Microlabs were surprising as they are normally for PCs, was looking at replacing the cheapy Sansui speakers I'm using for my PC now.Tink it also depends on the size of the room it is to be used in
Good to know, was also looking at the Hisense soundbar. Not with that JVC soundbar, I was in a room of about 30sqm and it was horrible, moved into a room of 45sqm still horrible. If you can test it out, confirm it doesn't muddy the sounds. I know pricier ones can be better.Good to know, was also looking at the Hisense soundbar.

Does not seem all that bad
Well, when one is on a budget...If you can test it out, confirm it doesn't muddy the sounds. I know pricier ones can be better.
Yeah there is that, a decent second hand sound bar could be the best bet.Well, when one is on a budget...
The other option is to get a second hand one
A good sound bar is that, a great sound bar will make it sound like you've got surround sound, a bad sound bar will make you cry.Still not too clued up on the idea of a soundbar. Currently running an LG surround sound system but alas running one's TV trough it only has 3 of the five speakers working.
