Budget wireless buds with Multipoint Bluetooth connectivity

On paper the huawei freebuds 5i does what you're looking for,

and is currently at R1.5k from takealot/makro from third party sellers, you could possibly buy directly from them if you can find their details,

Thanks for this. I bought the soundcore a30 already.

Let me know how it goes as I am looking for something to sleep with (Tinnitus) with white/pink noise.

Can you test how comfortable it is if you put your head on a pillow

They not as small as they look, so while i think they are okay if you put your head on a pillow, you dont feel much, i think with longer duration you bound to feel some discomfort

Please share the size if your ears (jokes).

Hope you enjoy them! If not and you used takealot you can easily return and try something else.

I think they do, but its been very hit and miss from my experience.
I have been through 3 headphones that "support" it, but its been atrocious support or just works in weird ways that makes no sense.
Well then Anker got it right with BT 5.3 devices or the BT tech has been improved.

I've had no issues so far with Multipoint. Can also easily switch of one device so it connects to another.

Where things get wonky is if both devices ring at the same time .

Let us know how they are when they arrive, I could use Multipoint buds.

Arrived this morning.

So far so good. I think some people may be put off by the lipstick design case. I am using it for work, so it doesnt bother me. Audio is clear, microphone is good. I am no audiophile, i just need something that is nice and clear so for me it works.

The multipoint thing is great. Very easy switching between the phone on the laptop. I havent been able to fully put this to its paces, but simple one is i was listening to a podcast on the phone, i opened a youtube video on the laptop, played that and the audio swapped over to the laptop and the podcast was automatically paused.

I find the touch controls on the buds not so great its inconsistent

touch controls on small things like headphones drive me bonkers...

One of the reasons I returned my original pair of Anker Liberty Pro 3's actually.

I get that the idea sounds amazing and cool, but it just ends up being annoying more often than not.

What controls do they have?

The touch controls on the Samsung buds work pretty well.

What controls do they have?

Has most of them, answer call, end call, skip tracks, increase or decrease volume etc. You can customize what you want to do. E.g. can set tap and hold on left to decrease the volume. Double tap right to end a call. Etc.

What's the ANC like?

Long term update on this.

Seem to be having connectivity issues with the buds. Calls will come in through MS teams, I can hear the ringing in the buds, but when I answer the audio continues through the laptop. Other times, I just get off one call, when somebody calls after that, it goes straight to the laptop. Quite strange.

Battery life has take a bit of knock. Cant see it lasting 8 hours, not that i used to use them for that long at any one point in time though.

Just food for thought for those interested in these buds.

Works fine on my Jlab Jbud mini's

Good that it pauses activity on device a when moving to device b and vice versa

Like when watching something on my desktop and then quickly checking something on my phone, it's seamless and pauses playback automatically when switching
