More out of curiosity, how many users/servers/budget/IT Staff does your company spend/have on average?

generally as little as possible (from what I've seen in the industry) because as "IT" you get treated like a 2nd rate citizen with absolutely no appreciation for what you do to keep things up and running until the day you actually want to take a day off when suddenly they realize how much they really need you... they then reward you with being able to work on your day off AND never getting that day back since it already went through HR never mind more pay as compensation.

company budgets are pathetic when it comes to IT yet they expect the world (and make money from it)

+1000000000000000 that is so true

4000-odd users
6000-odd mailboxes
1600-odd distros

a mix of Exchange 2003, 2007 & 2010 servers. (not very nice when trying to get the (updated) GAL synchronized & distributed to every Outlook user)

700 odd users
1000 odd mailboxes
100 odd servers

I actually really enjoy my environment.
