I plan to get the front section of my car (bumper, fenders and bonnet) resprayed soon but also have a voucher for a buff+polish+valet.

My question: What should I do first? Or does it even matter?
The voucher I have expires at the end of this month.

There's no point doing it before, all the paint you've just polished is gonna be taken off;)

You have to wait a while afterwards as well for the paint to cure before you do a polish, couple of weeks usually.

Since I have to wait a while, would it then make more sense polishing first?
Since the new layer of paint won't really need a polish.

I recently had a rear door little ding repaired, and resprayed the whole door (metallic silver).
Now the door does not look the same shade as the rest of the car - can the car be polished (burnishing?) to bring the colour the same on all panels, or do I have to respray again?

Is it worthwhile (and cost effective) to have the entire car resprayed (SUV size).

I think this depends mostly on where you had it sprayed.

I've had some dings repaired on my car before at Autoprism in CPT and now will return there and recommend them anytime, anyday!
the 2 times I've been there, I was not able to notice a different in color or that parts of my car was sprayed at all.

Tried the same at a different (Also RMA approved) panel beater and the results were horrible!

What's the issue with the paint? Detailing can correct minor imperfections in the clear coat such as minor scratches, swirl marks, oxidation, etc. If the base coat is affected, you will need to respray.

Rather use the voucher for the rest of the car if you do go the respray route, the newly sprayed parts won't need attention for a while.

I would only do these things myself, unless I was paying Crossley & Webb for detailing.

Maybe see if you can get your car waxed too.

My car is black :erm: and will definitely be my last black car!

There are fine scratches on every panel which I'm sure a buff will mostly fix.

My bumper, bonnet and front fenders definitely needs a respray.
20KG puppy caused that :p but she's gotten over messing with my car now.

Hehe. Fine scratches should be fixable with a compound and a polish. Wax afterwards. Perhaps post some pics of the bonnet and fenders. I recommend Meguiar's products (Ultimate range), high quality and readily available.

Some excellent products there Postman!!!

I'm blown away by them. So easy to use with no room for error. They may be more expensive than other less known products, or even less effective, but the ease of use and availability and online resources more than makes up for it.

They smell amazing too... :D

Love the grape smell of the tire polish.

Whos gonna do the buff and polish? I would rather reject the voucher if its just a bunch of numpties which are going to do more damage than good. Polishing is not for sissies, alot of commercial shops **** it up bad.

+1, no one touches my cars except me.

Would only use a proper detailing company.
