Bugatti Chiron

Bugatti is launching a special customisation division with this Chiron Pur Sport

This particular design pays tribute to Louis Chiron and his 1931 French Grand Prix win

Bugatti is launching a new customisation division called ‘Bugatti Sur Mesure’ – for those moments when your multi-million pound hypercar isn’t quite exclusive enough.

Apparently the Bugatti Sur Mesure team will be able to guide customers through “the world of possibilities open to them” and will offer one-to-one support when buyers want to spend a whole lot of money (sorry, we should say design something completely unique).

The Chiron Pur Sport above is the first product to come from the new venture. It uses two new paint colours, some fancy hand-painted graphics and a custom interior to pay tribute to the No.32 Type 51 that Louis Chiron and Achille Varzi drove to victory in the 1931 French Grand Prix.

Bugatti launches design division with bespoke Chiron Pur Sport

Bugatti Sur Mesure programme will offer new levels of personalisation for the firm's customers

Bugatti has launched a new division that will offer “never-before-seen levels of personalisation”, starting with a special design for the Chiron Pur Sport.

The Bugatti Sur Mesure programme has been created because of increasing demand from customers for personalised vehicles, and Bugatti says it will give customers “the full Molsheim experience”.

The division’s first creation is a Chiron Pur Sport that takes inspiration from Bugatti racing cars driven by Louis Chiron in the 1920s and 1930s.

The customised Chiron Pur Sport features a hand-painted number 32, bespoke decorative Bugatti logo decals above the headlights and two new exterior colours to hark back to Chrion’s French Grand Prix-winning Bugatti Type 51.

Inside, the model gains a new centre console inlay in black anodised aluminium with a silver, hand-painted inscription and a red Bugatti logo design on its door inserts.

Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport Grand Prix Edition

Bugatti Sur Mesure unveiled its first customer project, a Chiron Pur Sport inspired by the 20th century heroics of renowned racing driver, Louis Chiron. The legend of the Bugatti brand continues to resonate with customers and passionate fans of the marque across the globe. Early racing pioneers who piloted Bugatti's prototype racing cars continue to fascinate and are admired for their bravery and talent displayed on-track. Today, their spirit lives on and is the very source of the custom design of the unique Chiron Pur Sport.

Among Louis Chiron's countless victories at the wheel of a Bugatti was his legendary 1931 win at the French Grand Prix, together with Achille Varzi, in a Bugatti Type 51 emblazoned with the number '32'.

This number - painted entirely by hand - now proudly adorns Bugatti's modern hyper sports car as just one of a number of custome-made elements developed especially for this customer. Two new exterior colors were created to pay homage to the legendary Grand Prix racing Bugattis of the '20s and '30s.

The Bugatti Sur Mesure team also developed a new fading 'EB' painted pattern, applied meticulously by hand, which is complemented by a multi-layer stitched 'EB' motif on the door panels. Both required new techniques and processes to be developed by the Bugatti Sur Mesure team.

Bugatti Has To Recall Its Entire Run Of Crapbox Chiron Pur Sports Because The Tires Are Garbage

All 60 suckers who plopped down nearly $4 million are affected by the recall

Hey — Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport owners, put down your hoagies and whittling knives and ice tongs, because I have important news! Your car is getting recalled because the rear tires are probably all cracked and dangerous! There are nine people in America who are affected by this recall, but I urge the other 51 owners out there to yank off the filthy tarp from your Pur Sports and see how bad those rear tires are, because according to the NHTSA, those shitty tires can “lead to a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.” Man, what a heap.

According to the NHTSA’s recall website, Bugatti thankfully has an interim repair available:

As an interim repair, dealers will replace the rear tires on the affected vehicles every 1,875 miles or when tire age reaches 1.5 years. Once newly designed tires are available, the tires will be replaced again. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owners with tires that have already reached 2,500 miles or 1.5 years should not drive their vehicle until the tires are replaced. Owner notification letters were mailed on December 30, 2021. Owners may contact Bugatti customer service at 1-703-826-7545. Bugatti’s number for this recall is BUGCR025.

So, it looks like the best you can hope for is 2,500 miles out of the tires that came with the car, Michelin Cup 2 R 355/25-series tires, which were supposed to be good for the car’s top speed of 217 mph, but don’t even think of trying that on cracked rubber.

Sorry One-Percenters The Bugatti Chiron And Bolide Are Sold Out

In October last year, we shared news from Bugatti that the 500 unit production run of the Chiron was nearly spoken for and today we can confirm that all of them have now been snapped up.

Just last year, 150 very wealthy customers ordered a Chiron of sorts with a massive 60 percent of them being new to the brand.

Out of the 150, 40 of them decided on the Bolide which simply put is the most extreme Bugatti ever. These sold for a cool €4 million a pop (before taxes) and the cars won’t be delivered sooner than 2024.

Watch POV Video Of Bugatti Chiron Hitting 417 KM/H On The Autobahn

In December last year, we shared a video clip of a Bugatti Chiron owner taking his hypercar onto the Autobahn and pushing it to the limit.

They managed to hit 414 km/h in July last year and this is what the owner Radim Passer had to say in the description of the POV video (seen below);

Many people have asked that we share raw footage from the GoPro from inside the car during the Top Speed test and so we did. We hope you enjoy the ride, this time from a different perspective.

WATCH: Bugatti driver hits 414km/h on Autobahn, authorities not impressed

In just about any country, doing 400km/h on a public highway would be enough to get you locked up for a very long time, presuming you weren’t killed in the process. But in Germany there are some rural sections of the famous Autobahn highway that remain derestricted, and thus the stunt you see below appears totally legal.

Highlighted in a video that has gone viral in recent times, a Czech businessman called Radim Passer recently pushed his Bugatti Chiron hypercar to a speed of 414km/h on a derestricted section between Hannover and Berlin.

The video below shows his previous records and attempts, so skip to the 3:50 mark if you only want to see the latest high-speed run, which is also a world speed record for public roads.

However, according to the Associated Press, the German Transport Ministry is not very impressed with the stunt, releasing a statement this week that said the law requires drivers to only drive so fast that the vehicle is constantly under control.

Pic of the day: three Chiron Super Sport 300+ delivered in London

H.R. Owen gathers 10 per cent of the bonkers Bugatti production run for a quick family photo before delivery

What’s the collective noun for a group of stupendously fast Bugattis? Ah forget it, we’re not actually that bothered if we’re honest, because just look at that image above.

Yep, that’s three examples of the Chiron Super Sport 300+ gathered together at H.R. Owen Bugatti London before they’re sent off to their new UK-based owners. Hope they’ve all stumped up for 1st Class delivery.

The three cars actually represent 10 per cent of the total production run, with Bugatti building just 30 examples of the £4m-ish, 1,578bhp ode to the record-breaking 300mph longtail Chiron.

London Bugatti Dealer Delivers Three Chiron Super Sport 300+ Models

Bugatti will only be building 30 examples of the Chiron Super Sport 300+ and the Bugatti dealer in London, H.R. Owen has just delivered three of them.

As you can see, the Chiron Super Sport 300+ has very little scope for personalization and all 30 examples will be finished in the same spec as seen here.

When the Chiron Super Sport 300+ first made headlines back in 2019, Bugatti established an entirely new standard of performance by blasting through the seemingly unbreakable 300 mph barrier. Surpassing the threshold at a speed of 304.773 mph (490.484 km/h), setting a new world record.

Shortly after, to mark the 110th anniversary of the French luxury marque, it was announced that 30 units of the Chiron Super Sport 300+ would be built at Bugatti’s Atelier in Molsheim.

Reaching speeds of up to 440 km/h requires a lump of power and this certainly has that considering the quad-turbo W16 puts out 1,577 hp (1,176 kW).

Bugatti Chiron Owner Who Hit 259 MPH (417 KM/H) On The Autobahn Could Face Two Years In Prison

The high-speed stunt we have all seen and for the most part, appreciate seeing could result in two years of the Bugatti Chiron owner.

According to The Sun, German prosecutors are investigating the driver of a 259 mph (417 km/h) run on the Autobahn, which is also reporting that police have confirmed that they have passed a file to prosecutors about the incident.

414km/h Bugatti Autobahn driver could face charges after Germany launches probe

Car-mad Germany may be known for its speed limit-less Autobahns, but a Czech businessman's suspected 414km/h drag down a stretch of motorway has run into trouble with local law enforcement.

The prosecutor's office in Stendal in the northern state of Saxony-Anhalt said it had launched a probe into a potential illegal race over the incident.

The wealthy sports car owner from the Czech Republic posted videos of the drive in a Bugatti Chiron on YouTube, bringing attention to the incident.

"We thank God for the safety and good circumstances", Radim Passer wrote in the video description on his channel.

Some of the videos display a virtual speedometer which reaches 414km/h on a stretch of motorway between Berlin and Magdeburg, to the west of the capital.

Bugatti Chiron Sports R7 Million Worth Of Options Including R3.3 Million Paint Job

We know anything Bugatti related is not cheap and considering the Chiron starts at $3,825,000 customers are not exactly digging around looking for extra cash.

Still, we were still rather surprised to see a Chiron window sticker listing a bunch of options that shoots that base price up to $4,301,450.

GTBoard came across the window sticker and kindly shared it on Facebook for us to peruse. As the title suggests, the most expensive option is the Blue Royal Carbon exterior paint which costs an eye-watering $222,500 (approx. R3.3 million). The Sky View is also quite pricey at $62,000 but for some owners, they want to be able to see the sky above them so this is a must-have.

Another interesting line item is the cheapest option the EB Logo Wheel Caps – Nocturne for $1,250. Why are they so expensive? Well, they are better than the ones on your car because they say EB on them and that EB is painted black.

Looks like all VAG products have a comprehensive (and expensive) 'options list' for all the various parts that should have been included as standard in the first place - so much for 'fully loaded'... unless you have VERY DEEP POCKETS!

Bugatti Chiron Successor Will Be Hybrid

When Bugatti was merged with Rimac’s hypercar business late last year to form the new company Bugatti Rimac, we’re sure many assumed that Bugatti would simply develop a replacement for the Chiron based on Rimac’s 1,914-hp Nevera electric hypercar.

That is totally not the case as Rimac CEO and founder Mate Rimac said in an interview last week that the next Bugatti will still have an internal combustion engine but it will be heavily electrified.

“The easiest thing for us would be to take the Nevera and slam a Bugatti logo on it and call it a day. But I was against it. I’m an electric car guy, but a Bugatti should still have a combustion engine for some time. But it will be developed in a way that is financially viable,” Rimac told Automotive News Europe.

Post Malone Selling His Icy Cool Bugatti Chiron

Inside there is a white leather interior that matches the frigid exterior.

Making hit song after hit song will bring some cash to the bank and lucky for us, Post Malone is using his musical success to buy some pretty sweet rides including this 2019 Bugatti Chiron.

It seems it is time for the artist to part with this hypercar in what we can only describe as one of the crispest specs we have seen.

Finished in a Glacier paint with the Caractere wheels and silver front mesh makes for one classy statement guaranteed to turn heads for all the right reasons.

Inside there is a white leather interior that matches the frigid exterior. You would not want anyone eating or drinking anything inside this beauty.

Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 2022 review

Should I buy one?

For me, though, what remains more special still is that if you’re light on the controls, the Super Sport slips in and around other traffic like it doesn’t have a care in the world.

Its greatest achievement isn't that, with no limiter, it would hit 300mph. It’s that it will pull off that truly remarkable feat while being no more difficult to drive the rest of the time than that driving-school hatchback.
