Bugatti Chiron

I don't know about these cars. Grossly OTT, purely for dick-swinging, IMO. Where the heck are you ever going to use that speed? Not even modern race tracks will let you exploit it.

I take it you have your head in the ground then.

You have to compare apples with apples

Other cars run smaller powerplants, for example the F1 is a 6.0l 12 cylinder NA engine but kept up with the Veyron which is 8.0l quad turbo and the koenig one:1 only has a 5.0l twin turbo power plant.
Yeah but just imagine how fast a stripped down version would go

yeah imagine putting four turbos on the mclaren F1

or putting a 8l four turbo engine in a koenig

apples with apples...

have you seen the twin turbo aventador?

Messing with the weight would throw off any balances they've designed into it.
And at the power and speeds they are talking about, weight is your friend.
The theories behind modifying common road cars does not hold here.

Yeah it would probably be unstable

"The manufacturer has limited the maximum speed of the new car to 420 km/h for road use."

Is this implying that there's a limiter you can remove to go even faster? Well, I say 'you', but I guess I mean the Bugatti engineers when they're maxing it at Ehra-Lessien?

the veyron was also limited to 420, the supersport version was unlimited

these are electronic limiters, so yeah they can be removed

Fun fact - tyres for the beast are in the region of $10,000... each of course

Personal preference and opinion.

Give me something rawer with actual race track pedigree (not just quick in a straight line), such as the LaFerrari, limited edition Enzo FXX, FXXK or a Koenigsegg.

As opulent statements, yeah, nothing tops the Bufattis and they'll beat everything in a straight line down a runway, but they just don't get my heart racing.

The bugattis are not just fast in a straight line, the supersport version was the fastest around the Top Gear circuit at one stage.

My point though is that you think these cars have no places (be it on the road or track) to reach their full potential, you clearly do not know what happens in the car world if you think that is true.

Just wondering, some cars use thin car mats and carbon fibre gear knobs to shave a few extra grams. This thing has all the luxuries. How much faster would it be if they trimmed the fat away?

They will do that. When they release the supersports version next year for an extra half million pounds. You'll get less and maybe limited to 450km/h.
