Are these available yet?

I have seen pics of them in dealers but no reviews yet. I wonder why they are only doing high speed run in 2018?

Billionaires toy of no practical use to anyone.

Here are some maintenance costs on the Veyron and I suspect the Chiron will be no better:

Annual service - $30 000
New tyres - $33 000 (and they only last 4000kms)
Every 4th tyre change requires completely new wheels - $120 000

It's estimated you could buy and throw away a used Ferrari F430 Spyder every year that you own a Veyron for the same expense.

And the best part, if you live in SA you'd have to ship it overseas for the service.

I know of only one in the country - Baron Laidlaw who lives part time in Cape Town flies his out to the country occasionally.

People who can afford a Bugatti dont worry about costs :D

There’s been a rumour for a while now, and it’s just been confirmed. There are no plans for the new Bugatti Chiron to be offered as a roadster.

Dr Stefan Brungs, Bugatti sales and marketing chief, told Autocar that there will be “no roadster or convertible” variant on offer. This despite the popularity of the Grand Sport and Grand Sport Vitesse derivatives of the Chiron’s predecessor, the Veyron.

Naturally, the British publication also quizzed Brungs on the prospects of even faster versions of the Chiron.

“We’re looking at different options for the car,” is all Brungs would say on the topic.

He did, however, go on to confirm that the automaker has plans to target the world speed record for road cars – currently held by the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport – with the Chiron in 2018.

“We know our customers are, on average, car collectors,” says Stefan Brungs, who sits on Bugatti’s marketing board. “They have more than forty cars in their collection, and more than two aeroplanes. They have several yachts, and they have art collections and real estate around the world. So it’s quite easy to see if the customer is prequalified.”
