From this post I take it you dont watch Top Gear? They pretty much confirmed it when James May "Captain Slow" drove it at that speed on a German Test track (Someone else can maybe give more detail)
He said the car doesnt feel unstable at all... Feels like its doing 120![]()

Bugatti is an engineering excercise...make the fastest car possible (which it failed at btw). It's ugly, massively heavy and enormous.
I'd much rather go for something like this:
http://jalopnik.com/361929/ariel-atom-500-to-get-v8-power-upgraded-to-ariel-molecule
Arial Atom RS (Still to be released) Dual-Hayabusa sourced V8, supercharged to 500HP and weighing in at 500Kg, that puts it's power/weight at the same as the Veyron, but it weighs 1/4 as much.
The older version of the car, which only had 300HP, is the 3rd fastest accelerating production car. It's just behind the Veyron by a fraction of a second. Add another 400HP/ton and it'll be the fastest.
Plus it corners like nothing else.
..as an added bonus is that it's actually affordable, will probably cost about 1/15th of the Veyron
Edit: Worked out power/weight wrong. The RS will have twice the power/weight of the Veyron

I think that's the point that most people seem to conveniently skip. If they don't mind getting their spines dislocated at 400 km/h then by all means go ahead and get a Koenigsegg (or any other car that is barely street legal). You would rather have a stripped down track special, which is road legal, yes, but not really practical?
No thanks, I'll have the comfy two seater GT with A/C and all other luxuries and can do 400Km/h.![]()
I wonder what happens when a stone hits the screen at that speeds.
